Whale watching in Knysna
Whales like the Humpback and Southern Right are usually spotted between June and November. Areas like Wilderness, Sedgefield, Brenton-on-Sea, Knysna Heads and Knysna Lagoon have some of the best vantage points. Various boat based activities are available, so that visitors may get a closer look at these gentle giants.
The reason Whales migrate to South Africa during June and November is to calf and nurse their young. Knysna Lagoon is quite well known for this occurrence.
