Whale watching in Knysna
From the southern tip of Africa moving up along the coast, there are a number of Whale viewing spots. Each year Southern Right whales migrate to the coastal waters of the Western Cape (Knysna is located here) to calve. This can be seen from June to November.
About 37 species of whales and dolphins can be found in the waters off South Africa. The Whale route is most famous for sightings of Southern Right Whales and Humpback Whales. Whales can be found in Knysna Lagoon, near the Knysna Heads and Sedgefield.

Location
Pezula Resort Hotel is located above Knysna Lagoon and the Knysna Heads. It's also located in the beautiful Garden Route town of Knysna, South Africa. Being near the warm Indian Ocean, makes this hotel perfect for sea bathing and Whale watching. There are many attractions in the area, to introduce one to the delicate flora.
Directions from George:
Follow the N2 from George to Knysna. Continue through Main Road of Knysna, past a hospital on the left. After the Caltex Garage, turn right into George Rex Drive. Immediately after Knysna Golf Club, turn left into Wilson Street, go round the circle and follow Duthie Drive up the hill to Pezula/Sparrebosch Estate.
Directions from George Airport:
On exiting George Airport turn right towards the N2 and then turn left onto the N2 to George. Drive along the N2 until you reach the town of Knysna. Continue straight to Knysna and turn right onto George Rex Drive. Turn left at the Sparrebosch Golf course sign and follow The Sparrebosch Golf course signs until you reach the Sparrebosch Golf Course and Pezula Estate.
Plettenberg Bay / Port Elizabeth:
Follow the N2 from Plettenberg Bay to Knysna. After cream-pink cluster houses on the left hand side, turn left into George Rex Drive. Immediately after Knysna Golf Club, turn left into Wilson Street featuring a Pezula singboard. Go round the circle and follow Duthie Drive up the hill to Pezula. After the Security boom gate take the first entrance to the right.
