Every year between June and November, large numbers of Whales can be seen on the South African coastline. Starting from the very Southern tip of the Cape and moving to Kwa-Zulu Natal, these sightings can be made. One of the destinations on the coastline is Knysna.
From the vantage point of the Knysna Heads, some exciting Whale spotting can be done. Another place to see Whales is the Knysna Lagoon. Whales usually come to the lagoon due to the tranquillity, much to the delight of visitors and the locals.
Noetzie (a beach resort) is another popular place in Knysna for Whale sightings. Visitors can also move around in the greater Knysna area to spot Whales at the various vantage points. Other famous vantage points are Kaaiman's Pass and Sedgefield.
