How to get there by Road
If guests would wish to have the option to view the small and scenic towns around the area, they could travel by road.
Directions from Cape Town International Airport
- Take the N2 turn off (left) towards Somerset West, keep on the N2 (approximately 100km) until you see a small town, Botrivier, on your left. The road will split.
- Take a left onto the R43. Hermanus is 38km.
- Continue along this road, passing through Hawston Town until, till you reach Hermanus, Town.
Directions to Birkenhead House in Hermanus
- Drive straight into Hermanus Main Road and drive straight through the city centre until you reach a circle (approximately 6km).
- Take the second turn off, out of the circle, and continue (still on the Main Road) until the first road on your right (approximately 1km). This will be 7th Avenue.
- Continue (approximately 200 metres) towards Voëlklip Beach.
- Birkenhead House is situated on the corner of 7th Avenue and 11th Street.
Travel by Air
Landing areas for helicopters are available upon request. Transfers to and from Cape Town International Airport are excluded from the daily rate, and can be arranged at an additional cost. All local transfers in and around Hermanus are included in our rates.
